Professional Counselor, Gallup FP Strength Performance Coach, ASM EYS Life Coach

Corie is the wife of Chaplain Matthew Weathers and mother of their two boys, Aidan and Jackson. She graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary with her Masters in Counseling and is licensed in the states of Georgia and Colorado. She started her internship at the University of Kentucky's Deapartment of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Forensic Department working along side of the country's leading experts in eating disorders, childhood trauma, and criminal forensic evaluations.  She then worked as an individual and group therapist at The Chrysalis House for Women that provided residential substance abuse treatment for women off the streets and paroled from prison. She later served individuals and couples in her own private practice (the birthplace of Insight) specializing in marriage work, divorce, women's issues, and substance abuse.

Currently serving along side her husband at Fort Stewart, Georgia, she spends her time providing therapy to military families and civilians at a local practice in Hinesville, GA and partnering with her husband to serve families in the military.  Their first assignment was with 3rd Squadron 61st Cavalry Regiment of the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, CO. Jake Tapper’s upcoming book The Outpost: the Untold Story of American Valor, documents the squadron’s historical involvement in Operation Enduring Freedom X in the Kamdesh valley of Afghanistan.  This assignment sparked a passion for ministering to Gold Star Widows and families during the grief process of losing their soldier and consulting military command and their volunteers in issues of grief, the notification process, and Care Team development.  Corie has helped brigades in Germany, North Carolina, Georgia and Colorado develop better strategies of care.

Since then, Matt and she have provided over 25 weekend marriage retreats for more than 800 military couples and 12 relationship retreats for over 300 single soldiers. Specializing in treating military families, she completed certification in Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD from the Department of Defense Center for Deployment Psychology.

Matt and Corie are trained through the United States Army Chaplain Center and School, Gallup and the American Bible Society as Faith Strengths Advisors using the Gallup Strengths Finder inventory. They use this tool to strengthen military families and teams by increasing resilience and synergy, having led certification workshops with over 25 chaplains, chaplain assistants and spouses on behalf of USACHCS. They recently completed coursework to lead 7 Habits of Highly Effective Military Families, taught by John and Jane Covey, and Couples Communication, taught by Interpersonal Communication Programs, Inc.

Corie continues to encourage women by writing for Christian Wives Magazine, Bloom, Faith Deployed, and helping them grow in talent through StrengthFinders. Her desire to see the Church serve families holistically, she has consulted churches and ministries in the development of their counseling referral processes and the development of counseling ministries in line with the modern movement of Christian Counseling.
